Partner Description

Institute of Aquatic Ecology (IAE) of OK-CER focuses traditionally on freshwater ecology and specifically, fluvial ecosystem research. The Research Institute is opening new scientific directions, including experimental ecology, environmental genomics, microbial ecology, environmental chemistry, spatial ecology and integrative systems ecology. The new open-air mesocosm facility was established in 2019.

Zsófia Horváth (f, PhD 2013, biology). Community ecology of soda pans, experimental freshwater ecology, spatial metacommunity ecology. With postdoc experience in WasserCluster Lunz (Austria), KU Leuven (Belgium) and Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, iDiv (Leipzig, Germany), she is active in both theoretical and experimental research. ISI WoS statistics: 28 papers, 215 citations, h-Index 8.

Both Drs. Vad and Horváth have been trained at the AQUACOSM/-plus facility at WCL, and represent early career (female and male) scientists with a potential to effectively support the present rapid development at OK-CER partner. For this development, the AQUACOSM-plus project would provide key support.
